SHMN / Symbol Explorations
Six distinctive symbols exploring form, recognition, and visual expression. From minimal black-and-white iconography to dimensional jewelry-inspired applications.
Beyond the Conventional Symbol
SHMN Experimental Icon Archive is an independent graphic exploration by Shaman Dept, investigating how simple forms can evolve into distinctive visual symbols. The collection features six experimental icons, each developed through a different approach to shape, geometry, and visual expression. From pixel-inspired constructions and abstract silhouettes to eye motifs and dynamic figures, every symbol explores its own graphic character. Working primarily in black and white, the project emphasizes silhouette recognition, contrast, and the balance between simplicity and individuality. The exploration extends beyond flat graphics through conceptual silver ring applications, demonstrating how experimental iconography can translate into dimensional objects and wearable expressions. Together, these studies reflect Shaman Dept's approach to graphic identity—creating recognizable forms that can exist beyond conventional logos.
