PILGER / A Graphic With Presence
Three perspectives on a single graphic concept, exploring the relationship between expressive typography, wildlife illustration, garment proportions, and editorial presentation.
More Than a Graphic
PILGER is a streetwear graphic concept developed by Shaman Dept, exploring the relationship between expressive typography, illustrative storytelling, and contemporary apparel design. The composition brings together distressed blackletter typography, a detailed monochromatic tiger illustration, and delicate botanical elements. The tiger's striped tail extends into the lettering, creating a visual connection between illustration and typography. Rendered in a high-contrast black-and-white palette, the artwork is applied to a washed-black oversized T-shirt, emphasizing texture, scale, and graphic placement. The project extends beyond the standalone artwork through outdoor fashion imagery, where natural lighting, open landscapes, and understated styling create a distinct visual atmosphere. From graphic composition to garment presentation, PILGER explores how thoughtful art direction can transform a simple T-shirt into a recognizable visual statement.
