Start with the garment
A tee, hoodie and outerwear piece offer different spaces for a graphic. State which garment you are designing for, where the artwork should sit, and whether you already have a blank or supplier.
Explain who it is for
Describe the people who will wear the piece and the idea behind the release. A few concrete details help more than a long list of visual adjectives.
Annotate your references
Explain what you like about each reference: composition, lettering, contrast or garment placement. References should communicate direction, not ask a designer to copy someone else’s artwork.
Define the practical limits
Include your planned launch date, budget range, intended print method if known, and the files you expect. Ask your printer about artwork requirements before final export.
Agree on the next step
A useful brief opens a conversation. Confirm the scope, revisions and delivery schedule with your designer before production begins.
